Ro has a decade of experience in the automotive and clean energy engineering industries. With degrees in Physics from UC Berkeley and Materials Science from Stanford, Ro approaches problems from the fundamentals. During their time at Apple, Tesla, and Proterra, they gained a broad set of experiences across products and disciplines.

As a battery R&D engineer, they worked on everything from materials to components to full systems, de-risking risky technologies and design concepts early to enable tight product development cycles while still advancing cost and mass targets. Ro has worked on material development, with an expertise in automotive glass and materials at the intersection of durability and aesthetics. As a reliability engineer, Ro worked on drive inverters and motor-gearboxes for electric vehicles and on battery packs for stationary storage.

Ro approaches each project with curiosity and humility and loves to collaborate with diverse cross functional teams to make things happen. They believe engineering can and should be used to make the world a better place and that engineers should listen more than they talk.

Outside of engineering, you can find Ro making all kinds of art, out on the hiking trails with a pair of binoculars, or in the kitchen not following recipes.
